A hot rod club which lists as one of it's main purposes to “gather together people with a common interest in order to foster good fellowship,” was formed here Sunday.

The first meeting of the club “Seymour Time Turners,” was conducted Sunday and featured election of officers.
Officers named were Dave Taylor, president; Jim Nicholoson, vice president; Nike Ulrey, second vice president; Norman Forister, secretary; Fred Catlian, treasurer; and Farrell Sullivan, sergeant of arms.

“The purpose of and the reason for the formation of hot rod clubs, like all other clubs and association, is to gather together people with a common interest in order to foster good fellowship,” Forister said, “to exchange ideas and information; to enjoy activities as a group that, naturally would be impossible on an individual bass; and to work for the common good of the hot rod sport.”

Special guest attending the meeting included Charles Mann, chairman of I.T.A. And past president of Cluster Busters Hot Rod Club of Indianapolis; and Dave Jessup, member of Cluster Busters.

Mann gave a talk on the goals of the club and how they should be reached and presented tape recordings of speeches made for the benefit of the hot rod sport by Andy Jacobs, congressman; Bob O'Neal, superintendent of Indiana State Police; Judge Fulkner, an Indianapolis judge; and Al Huber, Indiana Traffic safety Foundation.

Next scheduled meeting of the club will be April 1 at the Jackson County Conservation Club at Rockford beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Forister said the public is invited to attend and hear the bylaws and constitution of the club.
